  • What is the main difference between granite and quartz?

    The primary difference between granite and quartz is how they are formed. Granite is from the earth while quartz is man-made. Quartz is also known to be a brighter white and does not require as much maintenance.

  • Do quartz or granite countertops need to be sealed?

    While quartz does not need to be sealed, granite countertops have to be sealed every three years.

  • How long does countertop installation take?

    Once you pick out your template, installation of your new granite or quartz countertops can occur within seven to 10 days. Installation time takes up to two hours.

  • Can silverware scratch granite?

    Great news! Silverware cannot scratch your granite countertops.

  • Which is more durable, granite or quartz?

    Quartz is a more durable stone compared to granite. You can cut on the surface without scratching it. Using a knife on granite countertops is not recommended by American Granite Tristate LLC.

  • How can I prevent stains?

    Quartz countertops are susceptible to stains. To get the stain out, leave bleach on it overnight and it should come out the next day. Granite countertops cannot be stained as long as they are sealed.
